Tribute to photojournalist wins the Photographer of the Year title in Sony World Photography Awards
Edgar Martins (Portugal) has gained the Photographer of the Year title in the Sony World Photography awards for his venture honouring his pal and photojournalist Anton Hammerl who was kidnapped and killed on 5 April 2011 by authorities militia, throughout the Libyan Civil Battle.
Martins’ work, ‘Our Battle’, was chosen as the successful venture from the 10 class winners of the Skilled competitors. College students have been invited to submit 5 to 10 photographs on the theme ‘In a Altering World’, highlighting optimistic tales of growth and progress from throughout the world. The competitors was gained by Lengthy Jing (China Mainland) of Yunnan Arts College. Together with the title, Pupil Photographer of the Year, Lengthy Jing gained his college €30,000’s price of Sony digital imaging gear.




Youth Photographer of the Year
