Transfer Problems

While trying to transfer files to my SD memory card, Windows prompts a message that the device is write-protected. Please help. Sonia Sharma, Mumbai

Transfer ProblemsAll SD/SDHC/SDXC cards have a switch on the left side. This switch is a lock that makes the memory card write-protected. This simply means that once you lock the switch, you cannot modify any data on the card. If you are unable to transfer files onto your memory card, you may have inadvertently locked the card. To unlock the card, simply slide the switch upwards. At times, the system may tell you that your card is write-protected even if the card is unlocked. In such situations, toggle the switch down and leave it locked for a few seconds, then slide it upwards to unlock the card. This should solve your problem.
