Quote of the Week by John Berger

“All pictures are there to remind us of what we disregard. In this -as in different ways- they’re the reverse of artwork. Paintings file what the painter recollects. Because every one of us forgets various things, a photograph greater than a portray might trade its which means in keeping with who’s having a look at it.” —John Berger (1926-2017)

John Peter Berger used to be an English artwork critic, novelist, painter and poet. He began his profession as a painter, and went directly to develop into an acclaimed artwork critic. In 1972, he won the Man Booker Prize for his novel G., among quite a lot of different prestigious awards. His deeply rooted political convictions are frequently regarded as undertones to a few of his books. Understanding a Photograph is a compilation of his essays that probes into the works of Henri Cartier- Bresson, W Eugene Smith and different iconic photographers, and his photographs supply readers with a humanitarian and political standpoint of the similar.
