Today DJI has announced that the DJI Transmission system is now available for purchase at the DJI Store. If you haven’t already checked it out, this powerful production tool gives you the ability to monitor shots as well as control the latest DJI gimbals from a distance. The DJI Transmission system is one of the market’s most advanced video transmission systems and will work with any camera that offers video out as well as all DJI latest gimbals such as the DJI RS3 Pro.
The system is modular and consists of several parts that can all be linked to create a larger system. At the heart of the system is the DJI Transmission, a small box capable of transmitting a video signal over 20,000ft at 1080p/60fps. While other systems can do this, the DJI Transmission is fully integrated with DJI’s other products.
Video signals from the DJI Transmission can be sent back to the DJI High Bright remote monitor for a clear view of the action. What makes the system really stand out is that if the High Bright monitor is connected to the DJI Ronin 4D grips and the DJI Transmission is connected to the DJI RS3, you can monitor and control the gimbla and camera from a distance.
The system features end-to-end ultra-low latency so that there is no visible lag between the action and what you see on screen. On a busy set or event, interference can be a real issue. Here, DJI minimises interference effects by ensuring that the system supports triple-band automatic frequency hopping. This means the transmission can switch between 2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz, and DFS to find the cleanest channel. The DJI System will also automatically scans the electromagnetic environment for the optimal wireless channel.
If you already own the DJI RS3 Pro and RavenEye system, you’ll know just how powerful it can be. The new Transmission system takes things a huge leap forward.
